Explore Eastnor Castle

A must-do on the list for all visitors is to explore inside the castle.

Eastnor Castle is a 19th Century revival castle built by the 2nd Baron (Lord) Somers, later 1st Earl, between 1810 and 1824. Eastnor Castle continues to be inhabited by his descendants and is a grade 1 listed building.

A wonderful day
out for all the
family!

Eastnor Castle is now the home of the Hervey-Bathurst family, grandsons of Arthur Cocks, 6th Baron Somers and is surrounded by a beautiful arboretum and lake. It has richly decorated interiors containing medieval armour, fine art and tapestries.

Visitors who explore the castle can view the magnificent state rooms including the Great Hall, State Dining Room, Gothic Drawing Room, Octagon Saloon and a number of the opulent bedrooms. Visitors are invited to enter the Castle through the magnificent main doors.

There are friendly, experienced and well informed guides in all of the rooms offering information and history on the Castle.

A wonderful guide book can also be purchased at the Visitor Entrance as a souvenir.

Allow around 1 hour for a leisurely walk around the Castle and be prepared to be amazed by the glorious views from the Octagon Room and Gothic Drawing Room.

Experienced a lovely day here yesterday with my partner and 3 yr old. It was perfect, not too busy, fabulous grounds and a beautiful house. Nice ploughmans in the Tea Room also. If castles are your thing then this will be heaven for whomever visits. Would definitely recommend and will return one day.”

Dogs Welcome

Eastnor Castle is very proud to be a Dogs Welcome tourist attraction and one of the few stately homes where dogs are welcome into its grounds and house.

If they are on a lead, your dog is welcome to wander with you when you visit, and every owner is offered dog waste bags on arrival. There is also a dedicated ‘Dogs-Off-Leads Area’ where dogs are free to run amongst the trees!
