Choosing Your Wedding Date – Is February the new June?

February: that funny, short month nestled between winter and spring. That sleepy month where social invitations are scarce and cozy socks are adorned.

Well, listen when we say that this underdog of a calendar month is having an uprising. February is now up there rubbing shoulders with the likes of June, July and September. February has slowly and surely been laying some solid foundations towards becoming THE month to marry in.

Hear us out on this one; we’re not about to abandon our love for a sensational summer wedding or a wonderland winter wedding, but Team February certainly deserves some recognition. And here’s why:

Expectations

Picture this: you’ve booked your summer wedding; you’ve dreamed of sipping your champagne on the terrace, the sun shining down on you and your guests. And then, it rains, and you end up indoors for your reception.

Not the end of the world but maybe a little disappointing.

Now picture this: you’ve booked your February wedding; you’ve dreamed of sipping your warm mulled cider inside as the rain splashes in puddles outside. And then, the sun shines and you end up outside for your reception.

Let’s face it, February is rather unstable in its weather portfolio… snow, sleet, rain, gales and sunshine can all make an appearance. But imagine, just imagine if you plan for that gale and the sun shines. Imagine how happy you would be.

Wedding Fatigue: It’s a thing. It’s what happens when your friends all get married at the same time. We’ve all had months when weddings line up week after week… oh, the outfits, the presents, the stag & hen celebrations – it can all become a bit much.

Month of Love

We’re big lovers of romance here at Eastnor and it doesn’t get any more romantic than February, the month when we celebrate Saint Valentine. We’ve already mentioned the cozy socks but add in a roaring open fire and the soft sounds of the piano in the Great Hall and ta-da – romance overload.

Colours

Just as love blooms in the spring, so do the buds. The grounds around Eastnor become awash with pops of colour in February as the daffodils flower and the snowdrops blossom. Imagine those beautiful yellows and whites in the backdrop of your photos. Stunning.

Just as you’ll find venues have better availability in February, so will your other suppliers. We’re talking photographers, florists, hairdressers… these can all get booked up years in advance for the busy summer months.
