Eastnor Offers Egg-citing Time This Easter

20 January 2014

Top Herefordshire attraction, Eastnor Castle, is hosting its annual Easter Treasure Hunt on Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday - 8th and 9th April 2007 - together with a host of egg-citing family events. And all this is included within the castle and grounds entry price.

Children will be given a treasure map and asked to find chickens hidden around the Castle and its grounds. Each chicken found will provide a clue to help answer a series of questions.  Every child taking part will be given a mini chocolate chick for completing the clues and a winner will be drawn each day to win the Large Chocolate Chicken in a Basket (and not a chip in sight).

Popular children's entertainer, Wizard Wonky, will be on hand demonstrating his amazing magic. There’s also a 'Make a Chicken' workshop every day between 11am and 4.30pm.

Eastnor encourages people to picnic in the grounds but it will also be hosting its famous Pig Roast and refreshments are also for sale in the Castle Tearoom.

If you can’t make it over the Easter weekend, why not visit Eastnor Castle some other time?  It's open every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from 15 April to 30 September and daily from 16th July to 31st August (except Saturdays) from 11.00 am - 4.30 pm (last admission 4.00 pm).  Eastnor has a range of permanent facilities for children including a knight’s maze, adventure playground, assault course, lakeside and woodland walks plus nature trails and fun worksheets.
