Spring is in full bloom and as we fast approach the summer months, now is the most popular time to get outdoors and enjoy walks in the countryside. Eastnor Castle is blessed to have its home in a stunning location of lush green countryside, nestled at the foot of the Malvern Hills.

We are the perfect location for dog walkers, with endless stretches of beautiful landscapes to enjoy, and to top it off, a woodshed cafe where you can refresh yourself and your pooch.

The Joy of Dog Walking

Many of the walkers that enjoy strolling in Malvern and the surrounding countryside own a fluffy friend. There are so many positive aspects to owning a dog, one of the main ones being the regular need for walks. Just some of the benefits of dog walking include:

Malvern Hills Walks

There are so many different Malvern Hills walks, and one of them is around the base where Eastnor Castle belongs - we are proud to be a dog-friendly venue. If on a lead, your dogs are welcome to wander the grounds of Eastnor Castle with you when you visit, and every owner is offered dog-waste bags on arrival. There is also a ‘Dogs-Off-Leads Area’ where dogs are free to run and enjoy themselves amongst the trees! 

Eastnor Deer Park sits across the road from the castle and is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest where a herd of Red Deer graze in a designated area. Visitors are welcome to walk through the Deer Park any day it is open and dogs too if they are on a lead (to protect the deer). It provides scenic walks of varying lengths and leads onto the Worcestershire Way and the Malvern Hills.

Walk With a Cafe

One sure way to improve a walk is to enjoy a snack and a drink at the beginning or end. If you are on a dog walk and have brought the family along, sometimes (especially with a young family) it can be tricky to persuade them away from the comfort of their own home. We think our Woodshed Cafe will help you on the mission to get the family to go for a walk.

Our Woodshed cafe is situated at the entrance to Eastnor Deer Park and is open for takeaway hot and cold drinks, locally-made cakes, ice creams and light snacks. The Woodshed is a great place to stop for refreshments before or after a walk in Eastnor Deer Park, a place to meet friends for coffee and cake or a refreshment stop on a journey. Facilities include:
