Set in the grounds of the Eastnor estate, your group will be instructed in the skills necessary to enjoy the outdoors with little more than a knife and a ball of string. Tasks will include shelter building, fire lighting, water collection, wild game preparation and cooking.
Your teams cross a 50-metre series of obstacles using taut wires and ropes. They have to work together and trust each other to successfully negotiate the course. These exercises will prepare your teams for their final challenge: a roped river crossing that the team will construct, tension and use!
Using a map and compass you must retrieve as many codes from points on the Eastnor Estate as possible. Codes will have different values depending on their location. It is unlikely that you will be able to get to all the locations, so a careful strategy must be adopted to maximise your score!
VALLEY LAWN ZIP WIRE
100 metre zip wire across the lawn at Eastnor Castle! This is a great introduction to activities that require a harness. Teams score points from accurately throwing missiles at a target below.
A competitive event, your group is split into teams, each has to learn bush craft and survival skills within a specified time period and then build a working camp by the end of the session. Your teams are given a brief containing detailed instructions and maps and they have to organise themselves into sub-teams who navigate to locations where our survival instructors will teach them the necessary skills.
Your teams will complete a series of challenges to collect points which will then be redeemed for go-cart components (wheels, axels, seats). If they fail to gain enough points/components this will result in a time penalty. Once the go-carts are constructed your group will race a circuit with 1 of the team members steering the cart on each lap.
