Central News Comes to Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire
20 January 2014
Eastnor Castle provided the venue and Westons Cider provided the transport for a 'We love the Midlands' summer roadshow broadcast on the 6 o'clock Central Tonight News programme on Thursday 21st August.
Bob Warman, who presented the programme, drew up outside the entrance to the Castle in style on Westons dray, drawn by their resident shire horses, Nobby and Senator.
The programme went on to feature a number of local attractions and food and drink providers, including Eastnor Castle, Westons Cider, Newbridge Farm and the Landrover Experience, also based at Eastnor.
In addition, Matt Slocombe, owner of the Crown at Woolhope, appeared on the programme as a guest presenter. Matt had recorded a food diary, highlighting a number of his favourite local food and drink suppliers. He then delighted the news team by Barbequeing some Herefordshire beef burgers outside the castle, which they enjoyed accompanied by some Westons Vintage Cider.
Sarah Bullock, Marketing Co-ordinator for Eastnor Castle said "It was a real pleasure to welcome the Central News team to Eastnor. The programme provided some excellent publicity for the local area as well as being a memorable day out for our visitors".
The show ended with Charlie Neil presenting the weather forecast from the roof of the castle.
